Welcome to The Glade Residential Care Home

The Glade is a family-owned residential care home in Birkdale, Southport. Established in 1984, our home is set in an elegant Victorian house with beautiful gardens. We provide residential care, respite care and support for people living with early-stage dementia, with space for up to 25 residents.

We want every resident to feel at home. Our friendly team takes the time to get to know each person, providing care shaped around their needs, wishes and routines. We support residents to maintain their independence while treating them with dignity and giving them choice in everyday life.

Our bedrooms are furnished to create a warm, comfortable space, with a mix of en-suite and non-en-suite rooms. Residents can enjoy freshly prepared, home-cooked meals of their choice in our spacious conservatory and dining area. We also have a quiet lounge for anyone who would like to relax away from the bustle of the day.

The conservatory opens onto a spacious deck with tables and chairs, where residents can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. A ramp leads into our large back garden, where we regularly spot squirrels. Our heated garden lodge offers a place to sit and enjoy the views throughout the year, including the winter months.

Our facilities include lift access to each floor, specialist bathrooms, hoists and a 24-hour call system.

There are plenty of opportunities to spend time together and try something new. Our activities coordinator is here Monday to Friday, 2–4 pm, offering activities based on what residents enjoy. These include arts and crafts, bingo, parties, tennis, drumming, pet visits and intergenerational visits. We also enjoy trips out in our minibus.

We're here to care for your loved ones

"Our focus towards practical and compassionate care makes a world of difference to our residents"
